Three totals that answer different questions
Choose a currency and reporting period in Revenue to see the state of your deal income. Keeping these categories separate helps you avoid treating a confirmed offer as a payment received.
In pipeline
Confirmed deal value that is still in a pre-invoice stage. It represents work in your pipeline, not cash received.
Outstanding
Invoice records marked outstanding or overdue. Check the relevant deal and due date to decide what needs a follow-up.
Paid
Invoices you have marked paid, using the payment date you confirmed.
Totals are shown in one selected currency. Handl does not combine USD and CAD amounts into an assumed exchange rate. Draft and void invoice records are excluded from the financial totals.
Track each sponsorship invoice against its deal
- Open the confirmed deal. Check the agreed amount and currency against the source.
- Add an invoice record. Enter the amount, currency, issue date, due date, and status as appropriate. Use the same currency as the confirmed deal.
- Keep sending separate from recording. Send the actual invoice through your usual process. Handl records invoice information; it does not send invoices or collect payments.
- Confirm payment when it arrives. Mark the invoice paid and enter the actual payment date so the record reflects what happened.
- 01 · Before invoicingUSD 1,650 in pipeline
A confirmed deal is in a pre-invoice stage.
- 02 · Invoice recordedUSD 1,650 outstanding
An outstanding invoice is linked to the deal. The same deal value is not also counted in pipeline.
- 03 · Payment confirmedUSD 1,650 paid
You mark the invoice paid using the date the payment arrived.
This example uses one invoice and a reporting period that includes all three events. For deals with multiple invoice records, check each record before considering the whole deal paid.
Review completed work and unpaid invoices
Start by checking which invoice records are outstanding and whether their due dates have passed. Open the deal to find the source terms and decide whether to follow up with the brand. An overdue indicator is a prompt to review the record, not evidence that a reminder has been sent.
With insights enabled, Handl can also surface completed work that has not been invoiced and other payment follow-up context. Review the supporting evidence, then send any message yourself. Gmail access remains read-only.
For earlier stages of the process, explore the solo creator workflow or UGC project management. Keeping the deliverables current makes the later invoice review easier.
Begin with one deal and one invoice
Revenue tracking requires Pro or Team access, managed per account during beta. Once enabled, start with a confirmed deal, enter its invoice record, and check the outstanding view in the correct currency. Use that same record to confirm payment later.
Handl is an operational tracker. Keep using your accounting and payment tools for sending invoices, collecting money, and accounting. The value here is seeing invoice status alongside the deal and its source context.
Questions about this workflow
Does Handl automatically detect bank payments?
No. This workflow relies on you recording the payment and its date. Handl does not connect a bank balance to these invoice statuses.
Can I track deals in different currencies?
Yes, with totals viewed one currency at a time. Invoice records must match the currency of their confirmed deal; Handl does not infer currency conversions.
Will Handl send payment reminders to a brand?
No. It can surface follow-up context when insights are enabled, but it does not send brand emails. Review the deal and send any follow-up through your own email workflow.
